Awards

  • Received the prestigious– ‘Chief of the Air Staff Commendation’ for meritorious service, beyond the call of duty. (Awarded Twice- in 1993 and 2001)

Administrative

  • First Cardiologist in India to be trained as NABH assessor in 2006. I have assessed many prominent corporate hospitals in India as assessor (or lead assessor) for NABH accreditation.
  • Instrumental establishing a non-invasive cardiac lab in Dept of Medicine, AFMC in 2008.
  • Assiduously laid down the processes, trained the paramedics/ nurses, and created infrastructure for two Cardiac Cath Labs in Armed Forces- a) In Base Hospital Delhi Cantt, after it was inaugurated in Sep 2011 and did the same for the Cardiac Cath Lab b) In Air Force Hospital Kanpur.
  • I have headed Cardiology Departments a) at the largest Air Force hospital at Bengaluru, b) at the Zonal Hospital of Air Force, at Kanpur and c) at the prestigious AICTS-Army Institute of Cardio-Thoracic Sciences (Erstwhile-MH-CTC) at Pune. Served as a Senior Cardiologist at Base Hospital Delhi Cantt (2011-2015). Vast experience in administration covering diverse areas of Healthcare and clinical services in Armed Force

Military

  • Actively organized outreach medical programs for veterans of Armed Forces. Conducted awareness workshops for lifestyle disorders and for promoting preventive cardiology.
  • I was scrambled and launched as the Medical Team Leader of emergency Air Force rescue mission at Charkhi-Dadri after the mid-air collision between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabian Airlines in Nov 1996.
  • 16. Medical leader for Helicopter based Rescue mission for casualties during Counter Insurgency operations in jungles of West Khasi Hills in Meghalaya in 1999.
